Green Screen

Original

Photoshopped

Questions:
1. I think the most difficult part of this project was trying to position the person to match the background, so the image appeared real.
2. I like how my image looks like a real event. I feel like this picture could've actually have been taken and I really like the sense of realness in it even though it is photoshopped.
3. I think I could have better lit my person so that she looked the same as Big Ben. I also feel like I could've better positioned her so that the photo had a better sense of composition to it.

Surreal Photography

Questions:
1. I used layer masks and the blending menu most in this photograph.
2. I think the best part of this is the way the cheshire cat looks like it is sitting on the bench. I think I accomplished blending it into the photo best.
3. It was kind of difficult to find images that worked well together, but I think it was fairly easy to place the combined images together. It was hard to match the lighting and shadows of the images, though.
4. I think I could have come up with a better idea that would've made my photograph a bit better in looks. I think I could've found a better way to accomplish what I wanted to do.

Speed Challenge Quiz

Three Qualities I Like:
1. He creates a sense of whimsical nature in his photographs.
2. He makes me feel immersed in the image, instantly drawn in.
3. His images look pure, as if there is no human life around disrupting nature.

Questions:
1. The quality I like best about my shot is the fact that the image is purely nature, nothing else. The eye gets drawn to the tree and the building is somehow absent when I look at this image.
2. I think my shot is amazing because it captures the purity of nature, while still drawing in eyes around to search through the image.
3. I used the grid option on my phone to establish rule of thirds with the tree, along with minor lighting adjustments to help see details that were lost in the tree and grasses.
4. I liked this challenge because I was able to look at things differently. I looked at objects more as life forms than still life. I used this time to look at things in a way I hadn't before.
5. I used leading lines in this picture to enhance the trees natural shape. I positioned the angle so that the branches would fall out of the frame in a way that leads the eye around the photo. I also used rule of thirds to position the tree itself on one third of the photo.

Landscape in a Bottle

Questions:
1. I learned how to create clipping masks, how to create a water reflection, and how to create my own layer mask using the lasso and polygonal lasso tools.
2. There are 30 layers in my final file.
3. I did like this assignment because there was a lot of different techniques used, which helped me better learn how to use photoshop. With all these different techniques, I was able to create a really interesting image that I really liked creating. I think this was a cool assignment because we had creative freedom within the bottle to make it our own.
